Tenafly Nature Center will discuss endangered species. Womrath’s Bookstore has arranged for child author Thomas Yezerski to read from his book “The Meadowlands”. Tenafly Fire Department will be giving information on safety of installing and monitoring generators and carbon monoxide detectors. Tenafly DPW will have a recycling exhibit, showing recycling benefits to homeowners and Tenafly. Friends of Tenafly Public Library will have a table showcasing books and media relating to environmental issues. Greenbrook Sanctuary/Palisades Nature Association plan to talk about the plight of the Monarch Butterfly and how to foster their return. United Water will be on hand to discuss water conservation. Bergen County Utilities Authority and Bergen County Environmental Council will give brochures and promotional materials, discuss recycling, composting and clean water, waste reduction, household hazardous waste management and offer handouts of reusable bags. O’Neil Contracting, Inc. and Lime Energy will showcase clean energy for home and business. A demonstration of compost bins and rain barrels by Rainbow Environmental; an Horticultural Consultant from Rutgers Cooperative Extension will feature timely horticulture topics and distribute assorted Fact Sheets. Healthway Natural Foods plan on presenting green cleaning products and organic beauty supplies. Camberly Gardens will be on hand to discuss organic and sustainable local landscaping. The Church of the Atonement will talk about their success in being the first faith-based group in New Jersey to earn the Green Faith Water Shield, an environmental merit badge for congregations. Honda of Tenafly will be bringing an electric and hybrid car for our education.
