2014 Community Service Activities by the Chamber

The Chamber has always represented Tenafly businesses giving back to our community. In addition to our long-running support of the Town’s Fourth of July display, the New Resident Welcome event and the traditional Holiday Parade, we are adding an event connecting us with our soon-to-be new neighbors – the Korean Community Center. This year we will also work more closely with those non-profit events that benefit us by bringing traffic downtown by promoting their activities as part of our Special Sales Days.

Korean Community Center Outreach – May 15 – The KCC is currently located in Englewood but will be moving to Grove Street as soon as their new center is built. The Chamber will meet with the English Class participants and converse on money and business. Members may contribute 40 coupons or other items to be stuffed in a Chamber bag for participants. (This does not count as a sponsorship event.)

July 4th Celebration – Supply glow necklaces at the town 4th of July celebration. Members are welcome to come help distribute the necklaces.

Tenafly Borough New Residents Event – Contribute flyers and Chamber Bags to the annual New Residents Welcome party at Borough Hall. Approximately 40 families attend. Businesses may contribute independently to this event.

Holiday Parade – The Chamber sponsors the traditional Holiday Parade in conjunction with the Tenafly High School Key Club and the Tenafly Fire Department. After marching up Washington Street, participants celebrate with cookies & hot chocolate.

The Chamber also supports the following downtown activities that coincide with the Tenafly Special Sales Days and Street Fairs:

April 26 – Tenafly Earth Day – exhibitions at the Tenafly Oval. For more info click here.
